A’Ibom CP Ayilara Adedamola to operate open-door policy

The newly posted Police Commissioner to Akwa Ibom State Police, Ayilara Waheed Adedamola has promised to operate an open-door policy.

Adedamola, who resumed as the 32nd Commissioner of Police in the state, said during his maiden meeting with senior officers of the command in Uyo on Wednesday that he was ready to operate an open-door policy for enhanced policing.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Odiko Macdon, the CP urged Police officers and men to remain professional in the discharge of their duties.

The CP further assured Akwa Ibomites of a satisfactory Police Service delivery while soliciting.

He called for the cooperation of all Akwa Ibom people to make the state more peaceful and safer, saying the Police under his watch would offer satisfactory service.

“The new Police Boss has assumed duty as the 32nd Commissioner of Police Akwa Ibom State and has held a maiden meeting with some Senior Officers of the Command wherein he assured them of his readiness to operate an open-door policy for enhanced policing. He warned them to maintain professionalism while performing their duties,” Macdon said.

Before his appointment, Adedamola was the acting Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, and had served as Assistant Commissioner of Police, Police Mobile Force Office– FHQ Abuja, Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, Oyo State Command, Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal and Investigations Department, Panti, Lagos, amongst others after he entered the Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in May 1992.

The new CP who took over from AIG Olatoye Durosinmi who is now the AIG Zone 2, Lagos, holds a Law degree (LL.B) (Hons) from the University of Ibadan, a BL from the Nigeria Law School, Lagos, and Master of Law (LLM) from the University of Lagos.
