A’Ibom assembly member accuses lady of stealing N35m

A pressure group in Akwa Ibom State, ARISE Integrity Movement (AIM) has formally written to President Bola Tinubu to investigate the member representing the Onna State constituency and the Leader of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Mr Sunday Johnny over issues of alleged money laundering.

Mr Cletus Ikpa, the national president of the group, who made this known in Uyo during a press conference held recently, disclosed that according to a source from the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) who pleaded anonymity, the Onna house member had reported a matter to DSS alleging that a lady he spent a night with at a private guest house at No. F130 Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, stole his money both in naira and dollars.

Ikpa further disclosed that according to their source, Johnny said that the lady stole N35 million in cash in a state where the majority are in abject poverty.
