Abuja-Kaduna train attack: Terrorists release seven more passengers

Another seven victims of the Abuja-Kaduna train captives have been released on Wednesday by the terrorists that kidnapped the Abuja-Kaduna train passengers on March 28.

The seven hostages, including a family of six and a woman, are Abubakar Idris Garba, his wife, Maryam Abubakar Bobo, and their eldest son, Ibrahim Abubakar Garba, who’s 10 years old.

Others include Fatima Abubakar Garba,7, Imran Abubakar Garba, 5, and youngest Zainab Abubakar Garba, who is only one and half years old.

Abubakar Idris Garba is a staff of the National Assembly Service Commission and the son of a former Military Administrator of Kano and Benue States.

Terrorists also released a 60-year-old woman, Hajia Aisha Hassan, said to be having serious health challenges.

The Publisher of Kaduna-based Desert Herald and Media Consultant to the Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, Tukur Mamu, confirmed the release of the seven hostages to journalists in Kaduna.

Recall that Mamu withdrew himself as one of the negotiators in the process to release the victims

According to Mamu, the seven were released following the intervention of his principal, Gumi.

It was gathered that the recently released seven now brings the total number released so far to 43 while 29 are still said to be in the custody of the terrorists.
