An 80-year-old chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in Igangan, simply identified as Pa Olawuwo, has been arraigned over the killing of Dr Fatai Aborode.

It was learnt on Thursday that Olawuwo was arrested and taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department Iyaganku in Ibadan.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo State, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, who said this on Friday noted that the suspect had been arraigned and remanded in police custody.

“Yes, he has been charged to court and remanded in Police custody,” he said.

A source, however, confirmed that Olawuwo and Aborode were from the same constituency and some of his followers who went to where he was detained denied him entry.
