AAC rejects 4 bags of rice palliative

*says party, not a refugee camp

African Action Congress (AAC), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, has returned the four bags of rice given to the party as palliative by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The action was taken by the state chairman, Mr Utip Etiebiet, after consulting members of the chapter and the National Working Committee of the party.

In a letter dated September 26, 2023, addressed to the Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Akwa Ibom State, Etiebet said the palliative was devised to mock and manipulate the intelligence of Nigerians.

“Following the stand of my party, African Action Congress (AAC) that the Palliative by the Federal Government of Nigeria is a ruse, deceitful and dubious way of acting on the intelligence of Nigerians, I, Elder Utip Etiebet, hereby reject the rice offer of four (4) bags that were offered to the party.

“Kindly acknowledge receipt of the returned 4 bags of rice,” the letter read in part.

IPAC had acknowledged receipt of the returned items.

When contacted by our reporter, Etiebet said his party has never acted beggarly to warrant four bags of rice to be sent to its office by the FG and state government via IPAC.

He also stressed that since his party is not a refugee camp, his members did not have to survive on palliative.
