Suspected cultist shoots dead Rivers varsity final year student
A final year student of the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt has been shot dead by suspected cultist at the school’s cafeteria on Thursday morning.
It was gathered that a group of suspected cultists had trailed the victim to a cafeteria near the faculty of management science about 9:20am, where one of the assailants brought out a gun and shot the unidentified student in the head.
An eyewitness said, “He died on the spot and the situation caused serious panic. Students and people started running helter-skelter and we are writing exams now.”
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the university, Harcourt Whyte, confirmed the incident.
“Those guys have been arrested and the police are investigating,” he said
