PCRC donates camera to Akwa Ibom Police
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to community policing following a courtesy visit by the national leadership of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), during which the committee donated a professional camera to enhance the command’s public communication and documentation.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, said the National Executive of the PCRC, accompanied by the Akwa Ibom State Chairman and executive members, paid the visit to the Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, on Friday at the State Police Headquarters.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to community policing following a courtesy visit by the national leadership of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), during which the committee donated a professional camera to enhance the command’s public communication and documentation.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, said the National Executive of the PCRC, accompanied by the Akwa Ibom State Chairman and executive members, paid the visit to the Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, on Friday at the State Police Headquarters.
John said the visit focused on strengthening the long-standing partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and the PCRC to improve public safety, enhance operational efficiency and advance community policing initiatives across Akwa Ibom State.
She explained that the professional camera was presented to the command in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and the recommendation of the PCRC National Chairman to strengthen the command’s public relations, documentation and strategic communication capacity.
According to her, the equipment will improve information management, media engagement and public communication.
Speaking during the visit, Commissioner of Police Baba Mohammed Azare expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for his leadership and commitment to strengthening community policing through strategic partnerships.
He also thanked the PCRC leadership for the donation, describing it as a demonstration of the committee’s shared commitment to professionalism, transparency and effective policing.
Azare assured the delegation that the camera would be deployed to enhance the command’s public relations, documentation and strategic communication in support of effective policing and public safety.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the PCRC National Representative, Ambassador Mary Joseph, reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force through sustained collaboration, advocacy and community engagement programmes aimed at promoting peace, security and public confidence.
John said the Akwa Ibom State Police Command remained committed to strengthening partnerships with communities, civil society organisations and other stakeholders as part of its efforts to build a safer and more secure state.
