Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested Osagie Destiny Etinosa over an alleged N11 million fraud.
The suspect was apprehended following intelligence gathered through open-source investigations. He had reportedly been posing on Instagram, using the handle @officialking_etto, as a football agent who specialises in linking players with foreign clubs for trials and recruitment.
In one instance, Etinosa allegedly obtained N11,000,000 from Samuel Beke Ohazuruike under the pretext of securing trial opportunities with clubs in Romania and Bulgaria.
The promised trials, however, never materialised, and efforts by the victim to recover his money were unsuccessful.
The EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, confirmed that the suspect will be arraigned in court soon.
