NSE appoints Eradiri, others to 2026 Professional Development Board
The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has appointed a former President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Engr. Udengs Eradiri, to its 2026 Professional Development Board (PDB).
Eradiri, a former Commissioner for Youth and later Environment in Bayelsa State, was reportedly considered for the appointment in recognition of his outstanding contributions to engineering development and the professional advancement of NSE.

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has appointed a former President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Engr. Udengs Eradiri, to its 2026 Professional Development Board (PDB).
Eradiri, a former Commissioner for Youth and later Environment in Bayelsa State, was reportedly considered for the appointment in recognition of his outstanding contributions to engineering development and the professional advancement of NSE.
The 13-member board, chaired by Dr Aluyah Okodugha, has been tasked with facilitating the training and development of engineers across various establishments and coordinating the activities of engineering manpower, engineering indices, and infrastructure report card committees.
Eradiri and other members are also expected to formulate policies to promote sound engineering education in Nigeria and develop strategies to enhance the active participation of Nigerian engineers in the public service sector.
The board is further mandated to design policies to ensure the sustainability of the Young Engineers Forum and to develop a strategic timeline and cost plan for bridging the infrastructure deficit across all sectors of engineering.
The list of appointments and terms of reference was signed by the Acting Secretary of NSE, Mr Abdulkadir Aliyu.
Other members of the board include Dayyabu Tijjani (Vice-Chairman), Dr Dominic Akubor, Ayidu Christopher, Sony Ali, Prof Remi Uche, Prof Babagana Mohammed, Denis Dannia, Dipo Mabogaje, Olashehu Taiwo, Abdulkadir Maccido, and Mrs Aisha Umara.
Eradiri, a Fellow of NSE, described his appointment as a privilege and an opportunity to serve the country’s foremost engineering body and Nigeria at large.
