Police raid premises, arrest notorious vandal suspect

The Nigeria Police Force, Akwa Ibom State Command, around 9:30 pm on 18 August 2025, raided a premises and arrested a suspected habitual vandal after an intelligence-led operation.
DSP Timfon John, Police Public Relations Officer, said on Saturday, 23 August 2025, that acting on credible information, operatives of the command mobilised and raided the premises of God’stime Emmanuel James, a 23-year-old male from Midim Water Side.
According to John, James, who had previously fled the community, was wanted in connection with the vandalisation of school structures and private homes.
“Upon arrival, officers sighted James and several other unknown individuals. James was apprehended during the raid, while the others escaped into a nearby creek on sighting the police vehicle.

“Items recovered from the scene include a small handbag containing dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, four door handles, a mini flashlight, and several parts of damaged door locks,” she said.
She said the suspect was currently in police custody, adding that authorities were asking victims of recent vandalism in the area to come forward to provide identification and statements to assist with the ongoing investigation and prosecution.
