Defect with me or resign, Eno tells commissioners

Eno to revamp moribund Ibom Tropicana

-Admits collecting N200bn monthly

-Vows to still control PDP structure

The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has directed all commissioners and political appointees to defect with him or resign from their positions.

The governor said it was no longer news that he has made-up his mind to defect to All Progressives Congress, APC.

“Anybody who claims he is not aware of my intention to leave PDP is still living in 18th century.” The Governor said.

The Governor gave the directive to Commissioners and his political appointees during the ongoing state Executive Council Meeting. The Crest Newspaper can authoritatively report.

Pastor Eno noted that he is in love with the leadership style of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, as such he would want to align with him.

He warned his appointees that he had nothing to negotiate with them but to follow him or leave the stage.

“Apart from elected officials like House of Assembly members and Local Government Chairmen, I have nothing to negotiate with you.

“Let me tell you, anybody who believes when I leave the PDP, he will use the party structure to fight me is lying because I will still control the PDP structure,” Eno said.

Although the governor admitted he receives two hundred billion naira monthly as reported by The Mail newspaper on Tuesday, May 20, he noted that he was not comfortable with the story as such news can spike interest from neighbouring states like Cross River.

It can be recalled that some months ago, news was making the rounds that Cross River State was nursing plans to approach the Supreme Court to revisit its judgment in which numerous oil wells were ceded to Akwa Ibom State. As at the time of this report, the State Executive Council Meeting was still ongoing.
