No one will be forced to take COVID-19 vaccines – Mamora

The Minister of State for Health, Dr Olorunnimbe Mamora, has said that no Nigerian will be forced to take the COVID-19 vaccines.

According to him, Nigeria received 3.92 million doeses of the COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccines on Tuesday.

“No Nigerian will be mandated to take the COVID vaccines. The COVID-19 vaccination will not be mandatory in Nigeria.

“Nothing will be made mandatory. It’s optional. The choice is yours. Nobody will be forced to take any vaccine.

“Whether it might become mandatory in the future; if that happens, it would not be a decision of Nigeria.

“Just as people cannot travel to some countries without having the Yellow Card certificate, countries might have to start demanding a COVID-19 vaccination certificate before allowing outsiders in,” Mamora said.
