No fewer than nine  Corps Members in the 2022 Batch C stream 1 who were sent to Akwa Ibom are to face disciplinary action for misconduct during the service year.

The State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Year (NYSC) Mrs Chinyere Ekwe, disclosed this before the commencement of the distribution of Certificates of National Service to herald the end of their one year service in Akwa Ibom.

Ekwe said out of the 1,734 corps members passed out from the state, nine of the corps members would have to repeat the service year for abscondment.

She charged the corps members to leverage on the experience and training gained through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, (SAED) programme of the NYSC to fend for themselves.

The state coordinator urged corps members  to use the knowledge acquired from Skill Acquisition and Enterpreneurship Development to develop themselves and become better citizens.

She prayed for their successes in their future engagements, adding that the labour market would have been reduced if they should embrace SAED programme and put the experience into practice.

“The knowledge so acquired should be deployed towards self sustainability and wealth creation. Resist the allures to get rich quick,” Ekwe advised.

Ekwe commended some of the corps members for exhibiting very high sense of maturity and responsibility as the conducted themselves honourably and within the ambit of the law during the service year.
