Kidnapping: So-Safe rescues victims, kills suspect in Ogun

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps also known as So-Safe Corps has rescued unhurt seven church members kidnapped in Ogun.
This is contained in a press release issued from the office of the State Commander of So-Safe Corps, Commander (Dr) Soji Ganzallo through the office of the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf.
The statement said that at about 2400hrs on Saturday, 1st. July, 2023, the special operation team of the Corps, Owode-Egba Zonal Command under ACC Jimoh Rasaki Omoniyi received a distress call that some of the members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Desires of Nations Parish, under Ogun Province 22, Abule-Ori in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area were attacked during a vigil, while seven (7) members of the church were kidnapped and the pastor killed.
Ganzallo noted that the Officers of the Corps were charged to go after the suspected criminals and were instructed to ensure the victims are rescued unhurt. And the Officers swung into action immediately.
Ganzallo further revealed that the efforts of the Corps yielded a positive result and the seven (7) victims were rescued unhurt while one of the kidnappers was killed and many of the suspects sustained serious injury during a fire exchange.
Ganzallo also revealed that the joint team of the Nigeria Police and the So-Safe Corps are strategically after the fleeing suspected kidnappers to capture them alive.
Ganzallo concluded that the body of the kidnapper that died during the crossfire had been deposited in the nearby morgue.
