2 Brigade calls for closer ties with NCoS for improved security
The Commander 2 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brig.-Gen. Jafaar Ibrahim has promised to sustain the existing synergy between the Army and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) for improved security in Akwa Ibom State.
Ibrahim pledged during a courtesy call on him on Friday at Mbiokporo cantonment by the newly posted Controller of Corrections Service, Akwa Ibom Command, Mr Frank Okonkwo.
He underscored the importance of inter-agency cooperation as a strategic approach to addressing the complex security challenges within Akwa Ibom and Nigeria.
The Commander affirmed the brigade’s readiness to collaborate with the Nigerian Correctional Service to strengthen operational ties.
“Let me assure the team of the Brigade’s participation in the command’s affairs.
“There is going to be continuous communication to foster strong inter-agency relationships for the benefit of the nation,” Ibrahim said.
Earlier, the controller expressed his appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage.
Okonkwo noted the critical role that the Nigerian Army plays in maintaining peace and security and called for its sustenance.
He said that the visit is aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration and synergy in Akwa Ibom.
He commended the Nigerian Army’s dedication to protecting the nation’s territorial areas.
He emphasised on the importance of a continued partnership between the military and the NCoS in ensuring public safety.
