Woman, 30 arrested for stabbing husband’s 18-year-old nephew to death

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 30-year-old housewife, Cynthia Olukiowu, of No 2, Apogidonoyo Street, Jafa Agbado, for stabbing one Habeeb Aremu, 18 years old nephew of her husband to death over a broken mirror.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the happening, said the suspect was arrested following a distress call policemen attached to Agbado divisional headquarters received about a boy who had been stabbed on the neck by his uncle’s wife, following a misunderstanding about a mirror allegedly broken by the deceased.
According to Oyeyemi, it was revealed that a mirror got broken and the deceased was alleged to have been responsible for the broken looking glass.
He said: “It was the allegation that led to disagreement between the deceased and his uncle’s wife, subsequent upon which the suspect picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the deceased on his neck.
“Upon the distress call, the DPO Agbado division CSP Kehinde Kuranga quickly led his men to the scene, where the suspect was arrested, and the victim who was in the pool of his own blood was rushed to a hospital.
“He was unfortunately confirmed dead by the doctor on duty and his corpse was deposited at Ifo General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.”
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
