The Commissioner of Police in his operational term has said he wants turbocharged pindown points which simply translates vibrant and functional alertness from the team at pin-down points.
The pin-down team led by Inspector Sunday Adeyemo, patrolling Okeganmu in Ilaro Division on the 6th of August 2023 arrested one Esube “m”, and Osunmuyiwa Solomon “m” who were arrested after a revelation from Esube that both of them have been involved in a series of killings in their area of responsibility.
Esube was arrested along Papa Road with an unregistered Bajaj Motorcycle in the company of a pylon, one Omowunmi Fiyakola, a passenger.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, SP Omolola Odutola, said on Wednesday that Esube refused to adhere to the flag down of the pindown team and raced off. He was pursued and arrested, upon search, one locally fabricated Pistol loaded with cartridges was found and recovered from his cross bag.
He said: “He was violent with the driver of the Police vehicle, by struggling with the steering in a bid to escape, he equally gave the police driver a poisonous bite on his right finger which led to a tyre burst and the vehicle lost control losing its tyres.
“Esube attempted to take to his heels, but was maimed on his right thigh eventually taming him to submission and the policemen captured him to the Police Station.
“He has made confessional statements as being a member of a notorious confraternity, and that the unregistered Bajaj motorcycle was stolen by him.
“He will be charged to court for murder, stealing, and possession of firearms.”
CP Alamutu Abiodun Mustapha has been briefed and he has assured that cultism will not thrive in Ogun State, and the hourly situation reports across flash points will yield the harvest of criminals and uncover more hideouts.
“Call me at hourly intervals” I will be abreast of your alertness said the CP.
These were the orders he dished out to the Pin down team as he told them he wants better performances across the board.
