There’ll be dramatic changes in human forms before end of 5000 – Don

A professor of Animal Physiology, Faculty of Science, University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Bassey Akpan has predicted dramatic changes in human forms, especially in sizes, before the end of year 5000.

According to him, human sizes will change to conform to behavioural changes as well changes in the environment.

The professor of animal physiology stated this during the university’s 80th inaugural lecture, entitled: “Morphisgasventrology and the Emergence of New Breeds.”

“In considering the philosophy of environmentalism and determinism it is apparent that the environment still has a significant role on human life. It is also clear that a conducive environment should be provided for continuity of life.

“I want to submit to us here that before the end of next 5000 years, there will be dramatic changes in human forms, especially in sizes because of changing in living conditions, behavioural changes and concomitant changing in environment. Let us understand that the emergence of new breed is absolute,” he maintained.

The 80th inaugural lecturer warned that the effects of chemical/products for body make ups, radiations from telecommunication masts, mobile telephones, earpieces, and computers are dangerous to the body and environment.

He added: “What can we say about the long-term effects of chemical/products for body make ups; radiations from telecommunication masts, phone sets, earpieces, computer and television screens, and other electronic devices; food chain pollutants; biotechnology products etc? Who can predict the effects of evolving technologies incubation (in the laboratories)? One may not be able to exhaust the list, but we should think of these things.

“It is apparent that the process for the formation of new breeds is ongoing and cannot wait for any man. In addition, I declare to us that biology will never stand still. One can therefore understand that, physiological functions are nonrepresentational techniques that help organism to survive while remodelling them. The performance depends on behaviour and the nature of environment that exist.”

Akpan noted that the idea of evolution is ongoing and beyond the physical change or evolution, as well as there is the spiritual evolution of man.

“The idea of evolution is out of the box and is ongoing beyond the spiritual change or evolution, there is the spiritual evolution of man. God created man in his image and likeness. But after man had sinned, God’s nature in man disappeared and man became another breed. Man started producing in his kind. But thank God for Jesus who returned that divine nature to man (Reversed Evolution).

“It is obvious that the present humans look very different from the Australopithecus (prehuman) that lived around 2.9 million years ago. We are very different when looking at our members of the same species, even by comparing the faces of people.

“These differences give us the phenomenon of races. Therefore, we are also likely to be different from the humans of the future. What we eat, how we use our bodies and who we choose to have children with are some of the factors that causes these changes in human body,” he said.

In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nyaudoh Ndaeyo commended the 80th inaugural lecturer, Prof Akpan for the lecture, adding that the topic of the inaugural lecture was unique and interesting as its unravelled all that concerns morphisgasventrology and emergence of new breeds, which according to him, are important to human beings and environment.

He further assured that his administration would ensure that the gown and town relationship in the university is maintained, adding that inaugural lecture is a serious business in the university.
