Tawasimi assumes duty as 44th  commander 2 brigade

Brig.-Gen. Alexander Tawasimi, has assumed duty as the 44th Commander  of 2 Brigade Nigerian Army at the brigade headquarters, Mbiokporo Military Cantonment, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations, 2 Brigade Nigerian Army, Lt. Adebowale Adejimi in Uyo.

Adejimi in his statement said that Tawasimi took over from Brig.-Gen. Jafaar Ibrahim, who has since been redeployed.

“Today, Jan. 29, Brig.-Gen. Alexander Tawasimi officially assumed as the 44th Commander  of 2 Brigade Nigerian Army at the Brigade Headquarters, Mbiokporo Military Cantonment, Nsit Ibom in Akwa Ibom State.

“The transition occurred as part of the Nigerian Army’s strategic routine redeployment.

“Prior to his appointment as Commander 2 Brigade, Brig.-Gen.Alexander Tawasimi served as the Commander 8 Division Garrison in Sokoto.

“As part of the proceedings for the handing and taking over ceremony, the outgoing Commander, Brig.-Gen. Jafaar Ibrahim, inaugurated several significant projects, including the Unknown Soldier Statue,” Adejimi said.

Adejimi said that during his farewell, Ibrahim expressed his gratitude for the support received throughout his tenure and urged all personnel to extend the same support to his successor
