Suspected herdsmen kill eight people in Kaduna
Suspected herdsmen have attacked eight villages in Kibori and Atagjah, killing eight locals in Atyap area of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Mohammed Jalige, did not respond to calls for comments.
However, a community leader said on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, that Kibori, Asha Awuce, was attacked by suspected Fulani militants in the evening of Monday, who started firing standing, which led to the killing of at least five people while several others were injured.
“The attackers destroyed houses and destroyed food supplies,” he said.
“In the village of Atagjeh, suspected Fulani gunmen on Tuesday night killed three people while three others sustained various injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment,” he said.
Attacks on the Atyap kingdom have become commonplace among some suspected Fulani. “Almost all the villages that returned the Atyap kingdom were attacked, and many lives and property were destroyed.”
“What is worse is that the alleged attacks by the Fulani continue and the indigenous people are allowed to continue to walk without any protection at all to protect them from the hands of the insurgents who are determined to carry out their mission,” he said.
