SSS1 student murders SSS2 student over wrong school belt

A senior secondary school student 1 of the Community Secondary School, Aka Offot, Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State killed an SSS 2 student over a wrong school belt.
The suspect, Gideon David Francis was said to have engaged Abasifreke Godwin Isaiah in a fight, in which Abasifreke collapsed and died instantly.
Eyewitness said an SS1 G student, one Gideon David Francis came to school on the fateful (February 10) day with a wrong school belt and Abasifreke challenged him.
“The challenge resulted in a fight and in the process, Abasifreke collapsed and was rushed to a hospital where he passed away.
“The death of Abasifreke has caused tension in the school despite the intervention of security operatives and State Government,” he said.
Meanwhile, the management of the school led by the Principal, Mr Aniedi Essien have confirmed the unfortunate incident while investigations into the case is still ongoing to determine if the fight has anything related to cultism that is prevalent in many public schools in the country.
The police authorities in the area have confirmed the killing and assured of adequate security.
