Police Week: Akwa Ibom command lauds Umo Eno’s support
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has praised Governor Umo Eno for his unwavering support to security agencies, as activities for the ongoing Police Week celebration.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has praised Governor Umo Eno for his unwavering support to security agencies, as activities for the ongoing Police Week celebration.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, stated on Sunday, 6 April 2026 that the command expressed deep appreciation for the governor’s sustained commitment to strengthening the operations of the Nigeria Police Force and other security outfits in the state.
The command noted that the successes recorded in tackling crime and maintaining peace in the state are largely due to the governor’s leadership, strategic investment in security infrastructure, and dedication to protecting lives and property.
It highlighted key interventions by the governor, including the construction of internal road networks within the Police Headquarters, the the establishment of a state command and control centre, and the ongoing development of the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) barracks.
According to the statement, these initiatives have significantly improved the operational efficiency, mobility, coordination, and rapid response capabilities of security agencies.
The command also praised the consistent fuelling of patrol vehicles, provision of operational logistics, and welfare-focused initiatives, which it said have boosted officers’ morale and enhanced professionalism in service delivery.
The Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, described the support as commendable and crucial to strengthening collaborative policing, improving operational effectiveness, and building public confidence in security institutions.
“As Police Week provides an opportunity for reflection, appreciation, and renewed commitment to service, the command assures the governor and the people of Akwa Ibom State of its resolve to sustain intelligence-led policing, enhanced community engagement, and robust visibility patrols across the state,” the statement read.
The command also urged residents to cooperate with the police and other security agencies by providing timely and credible information to help prevent and combat crime.
It reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Akwa Ibom State.
