Police recover stolen vehicle, arrest suspect

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has recovered another vehicle linked to a stolen car syndicate and arrested an additional suspect.
Further to a previous report dated August 6, 2025, detailing the arrest of a syndicate, Operatives of the command have continued their efforts to recover more stolen vehicles.
DSP Timfon John, Police Public Relations Officer, Akwa Ibom State Police Command, said the incident happened on 13 August 2025.
She said, “On 13 August 2025, at 1600 hours, police action led to the arrest of Otoabasi George Ime, a male suspect found in possession of a Toyota Camry with number plate BGM 934 DA.
“This vehicle has been confirmed as one of the stolen cars connected to the previously apprehended syndicate.”
According to her, the command was intensifying its efforts to recover the remaining stolen vehicles.
John stated that the command reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property.
