Police raid night club, arrest many for flouting COVID-19 orders

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Hakeem Odumosu, on Saturday morning raided Lounge 38, Bode Thomas, Surulere and apprehended many for flouting COVID-19 protocols by clubbing around 1 am.
It was gathered that the CP personally led the team of police officers and men to Surulere and Maryland to enforce the COVID-19 orders across the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the team also nabbed some for violating the 12 to 4am curfew at Maryland.
Adejobi said: “The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Hakeem Odumosu, today 9th January 2021, personally led a team of police officers and men to enforce COVID-19 protocols across the state.
“The police chief and team went to Lounge 38, Bode Thomas, Surulere and arrested scores clubbing around 1 am, which was contrary to the state government COVID-19 orders of Lagos State.
“His team also arrested some for violating the 12 to 4am curfew at Marland. He has vowed to do everything possible within the ambit of the law to enforce the orders and halt the spread of the pandemic in Lagos State.”
Adejobi added that the operation will continue with a view to reducing the COVID-19 spread.
