Police arrest burglar, recover generator

The Nigeria Police, Ogun State Command have arrested one Onanuga Adesegun, male, residing at Ika Ajibefun Idi Ori Abeokuta.
This was contained in the command’s Situation Report (SITREP) X; Division: Lafenwa; Incident: Entering/Stealing/Arrest of Suspect on 12/02/2024 around 17:45hrs.
According to the police, the suspect was accompanied by four others.
The SITREP read: “He reported that at around 16:30hrs on the same day, he received a phone call from a member of his community informing him of thieves breaking into his house at the mentioned address.
“Upon arriving home, he found that a notorious thief, Yusuf Damilare, male, had been apprehended with the engine of his generator, which he had removed after scaling over his fence.
“Adesegun was assisted by neighbours in bringing the suspect to the station.
“The crime scene was visited, and photographs of the scene and the suspect were taken.”
The police added that the suspect was currently undergoing interrogation.
They noted that a preliminary investigation was ongoing to arrest the suspect’s other syndicate members and recover more exhibits.
The police, however, assured the public that further developments would be communicated soon.
