Obedient Movement thronged the Ibom Plaza on Thursday. They offered free services to Nigerians. This act was to commemorate the birthday of Mr Peter Obi, former Anambra State governor and 2023 presidential flagbearer of the Labour Party.

Youths offered haircuts for free. Other professionals, like electricians and plumbers, were waiting to provide services to anyone in need.

It was learnt that sound systems used on the occasion were also offered for free by the youths.

Director of Mobilisation, Obedient Movement in Akwa Ibom State, Mr Promise Mbakara, said the youth took interest in celebrating the event with Peter Obi, adding that since inception, Obi has been marking his birthdays at orphanage homes, prisons, and more.

He stated that their best option was to offer a week-long free service. This service would be available to Nigerians wherever they may be.

He said, “In the previous years, Obi had been celebrating his birthday just as an individual. Since he became the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, his followers, known as the Obidient Movement, decided to celebrate with him. They dedicated a whole week to the cause, which starts on 19 July 2025. In Akwa Ibom State, we do not want to be left out.
