The Lagos State government has announced the reopening of churches and mosques in the state.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced this at a briefing in Lagos on Saturday.

According to him, mosques can hold their prayers five times daily while churches are free to start weekly services.

On August 7, the governor allowed mosques and churches to hold their Friday and Sunday services only.

Nonetheless, Sanwo-Olu said that the safety protocols released by the government must be strictly adhered to.

Worship centres in the state had been shut since March to contain the spread of COVID-19.
