Indian police arrest three Nigerians, seize N13.9m worth of cocaine

Mumbai Police Special Squad has nabbed three Nigerian nationals and seized almost 220 grams of cocaine worth over Rs 22 lakhs ($29,833.32) (N13.9m).
The suspects were said to have been arrested at Malad and Royal Palm areas of Mumbai by the special Squad of Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone XI along with the Bangur Nagar police.
An official said that acting on a tip-off, the squad laid a trap at Link Road in Malad and apprehended 38-year-old Uche James after he arrived to deliver the contraband.
It was gathered that 10.14 gramme of cocaine was recovered from him.
Mr James was produced in court and remanded in police custody till December 7.
On Thursday, the police team arrested Emeka Cyprian and Chukwu Joseph at the transaction spot in Aarey Colony Goregaon.
They were reportedly found with 210 gramme of cocaine.
The police recovered a total of over 200 gramme of cocaine worth from the trio, who were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the official said.
