Ilford: Two men dead and woman arrested in Sunday morning ‘disturbance’ in east London, police say
Homicide detectives at the Metropolitan Police have been informed about the incident.
Two men have died and a woman has been arrested following a “disturbance” in east London on Sunday morning.
The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to Tavistock Gardens in Ilford at 4.24am and found two men with serious injuries.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the pair died at the scene, and a 28-year-old woman was arrested.
A Taser was used during her detention, and she is now being treated for non-life-threatening injuries in hospital.
The next of kin of the two men have not yet been informed.
Homicide detectives from the Met have been notified and cordons are in place.
A man who lives on the street said he was awoken by the sounds of a woman screaming.
Kuddus Miah, 44, said: “She was screaming ‘help, help call the police’.
“The police and ambulances were there very quick.
“I got changed out my PJs and went outside and asked one of the neighbours opposite what happened.
“She said a woman was coming in and out of the house crying out for help.”
He added: “I saw the police arresting her, taking her into the van, she was maybe around 5ft 5ins, blonde hair, maybe late 20s.
“Apparently they were new tenants. “We’ve lived here around 15 years and it’s a very quiet neighbourhood, it’s shocking.”
