The management of Ceedapeg Hotels has pledged its support to the journalism profession in Akwa Ibom State, expressing readiness to collaborate with the Amalgamated Newspaper Publishers Association (ANPA) for mutual growth and development.
This assurance was given by the Managing Director of the hotel, Chief Dr. Effiong Daniel Afiakurue, during a courtesy meeting with ANPA members held at the hotel premises.
Represented by one of the hotel’s directors and a US-based business mogul, Mr. Skip Bassey, Chief Afiakurue described journalism as a vital pillar in national development and said that the hotel welcomes collaboration with media professionals.
According to him, “The role of journalism in nation-building cannot be overemphasised. We believe ANPA is a strong and credible platform, and we are open to a partnership that will be of mutual benefit to both parties.”
As a gesture of goodwill, Chief Afiakurue made a donation of one of the hotel’s premium products to ANPA, symbolising the hotel’s commitment to supporting the association’s activities.
In his remarks, Comrade Osuiniabasi Alfred, Chairman of ANPA, expressed gratitude to the hotel management for its warm hospitality and the generous donation.
He praised the vision behind the Ceedapeg Hotel project, describing it as a significant contribution to the state’s tourism and economic development.
“This hotel is not just an investment; it is a catalyst for tourism growth in Akwa Ibom. We commend Chief Afiakurue for his foresight, and we in ANPA are committed to building a strategic partnership with Ceedapeg to support tourism and the broader development agenda of the state,” Comrade Alfred said.
He pledged ANPA’s readiness to work with the hotel and other stakeholders in promoting Akwa Ibom as a destination for business, tourism, and investment.
The meeting marked the beginning of a promising collaboration between the media and the hospitality sector in Akwa Ibom, setting the stage for joint initiatives that will benefit the state.
