Gunmen abduct two Rev Fathers in Edo
Gunmen have kidnapped two Catholic priests, nearly two weeks after Rev Father Christopher Odia was abducted and killed.
The latest kidnap victims are Rev. Father Udo of St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Uromi and Rev. Father Philemon Oboh of St Joseph Retreat Centre, Ugboha, both in Edo State.
The priests were abducted on Saturday along the Benin-Auchi road while travelling to Uromi in Esan South-East Local Government Area.
The two incidents have thrown the churches into panic and worry over the safety of clergymen.
It could not be confirmed as of report time whether the gunmen or kidnappers have established contact with the Churches where the clergymen worship.
A Catholic Priest, Rev. Father Christopher Odia was kidnapped two weeks ago at Ikabigbo community in Etsako West Local Government Area of the state.
He was later found dead in a bush a few hours after his abduction.
