FRSC urges personnel on enhanced service delivery

Mr Chidiebere Nkwonta, Zonal Commanding Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Port Harcourt, has called on all personnel of the corps to put in their best and cooperate with management to enhance service delivery to Nigerians.

Nkwonta said this during his official visit to Akwa Ibom State Command of the FRSC (RS6.3) in Uyo on Thursday, adding that Nigerians were expecting FRSC to ensure zero crash on the nation’s highways.

He urged the personnel across the command and the zone to remain dedicated and committed to their assigned duties to improve on the image of the corps.

The zonal commanding officer, who was on familiarisation tour of the command, asked the marshal and officers to improve on their performance to uplift the corps.

He assured the personnel that management would continue to do its best to improve on their welfare subject to available resources.

“So, for us to remain on top, we need to work a lot harder. So, I want to appeal to all of you to give us your cooperation. This is the first Command am visiting.

“So, we need you to help us to succeed, those of you who know me, know that I am a motivator, I am an achiever, I am a result-oriented person; I rely on human resources to succeed.

“So, I am going to be talking to you on what you can offer; I am going to be tasking you through your Sector Commander. Please when that happens, give us your cooperation,” Nkwonta admonished the corps.

On inadequate logistics in the command, the zonal commanding officer, said management was doing everything possible to improve on it.

He called on personnel to manage the available logistics and continue to make the corps relevant, stressing that the corps owe the country sincerity.

He warned personnel against shady behaviours that would bring the corps into disrepute, adding that FRSC was highly rated and respected.

Earlier, the Sector Commander, Mr Matthew Olonisaye, said the command recorded fewer fatalities resulting from crashes due to increased level of the corps’ visibility at crash prone areas and quick response to crashes.

Olonisaye appealed to the FRSC management to improve on the logistics, saying that the command lacks towing truck to respond to heavy duty vehicles breakdown.

“The Sector Command is confronted also with old but refurbished patrol vehicles and this has posed a great threat to effective patrol operations.

“We assure that with your visit sir, blueprints will be set to alleviate the command of the such challenges,” Olonisaye said.
