Food price protest: Police arrest three women

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested three women for allegedly instigating a protest in Niger State against the rise in food prices.
According to Peter Obi Grassroots Mobilization.@PO_GrassRootM, the police have said they would prosecute the three women.
“Information says that the @PoliceNG has arrested the women who initiated the food price protest in Niger State for organizing this heroic act, she and other women are to be arraigned by the Nigerian Police.
“The Nigerian police must release them with an immediate effect, or face nationwide protests by all Nigerians,” the statement made available to the group’s X handle said.
Efforts to speak with the Police Public Relations Officer, Niger State, DSP Wasiu Abiodun for comments, were unsuccessful as his telephone rang out. He did not respond to a text message that was sent to his telephone.
