Five persons die in Bayelsa auto crash

At least, five persons have died in a fatal auto crash in Bayelsa State.
The accident involving a black Toyota Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) with number plate RGM 38 HM and a Mazda 323F with number plate NEM 456 PG happened on the Amassoma Road in Yenagoa Local Government Area.
It was gathered that the SUV had a head-on collision with the Mazda car.
The Bayelsa State Police Command has confirmed the accident.
Spokesman for the command, Asinim Butswat, said four passengers and the driver of the Mazda car died on the spot.
He also said that a female passenger was rescued and hospitalised at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri.
Butswat, a Superintendent of Police, said that the corpses of the victims had been deposited at the same hospital for autopsy.
He said investigation was ongoing to arrest the driver of the SUV car and to ascertain the cause of the fatal car crash.
