DIG vehicle allegedly kills a motorcyclist in Ondo

A Toyota Land Cruiser belonging to a serving Deputy Inspector-General of Police, allegedly killed a commercial motorcyclist, popularly known as Okada, in Ondo.
The incident happened along Akure-Ondo Expressway in Bolorunduro, the headquarters of the Ondo East Local Government Area of the state, on Sunday.
Eyewitnesses said the DIG was not in the vehicle, but his security aides were in it. They added that the jeep hit the motorcyclist, who died instantly and swerved off the road.
A source said: “The DIG was in Lagos and he sent his ‘boys’ to go and bring the jeep from Akure but the vehicle had an accident on the way to Lagos.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ondo State Command, Mr Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the matter.
