The Ado-Ekiti High Court has sentenced one Tunmise Abraham to death by hanging for raping and killing his landlady, Bukola Olanrewaju.
The convict was in 2019 said to have broken into the deceased’s and mother of three home, when her husband was away for work.
According to court’s document, Abraham is accused of breaking into the Olanrewaju’s room, threatening her with a cutlass, tying her up, and then raping her.
The statement added: “After the act, the tenant fled the house, but some of his belongings were found in the room, which suggested that he was responsible for the act.”
Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Julius Ajibare, invited four witnesses to testify.
Ruling on the case, Justice Monisola Abodunde stated that Abraham was found guilty of raping and killing his landlady in the Adebayo area of Ado-Ekiti. Abodunde, therefore, sentenced him to death by hanging.
