The Osun State Police Command has dismissed Sergeant Adamu Garba for shooting an innocent man, Saheed Olabo, dead on July 27, 2021.
The suspect was said to have been arrested after the murder on the order of the Commissioner of Police, Osun State, Olawale Olokode.
According to a press statement which was signed by the Police Relations Officer, Osun State Command, SP Opalola Yemisi Olawoyin on August 13, 2021, Garba with ID No. F/NO.467549, was dismissed after an orderly room trial was conducted by the Osun State Police Command.
In the trial, it was gathered that the suspect was found guilty of the offence and thereby subsequently dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force.
“The orderly room procedure has been forwarded to Police Force Headquarters, Abuja for necessary action towards prosecution. This, he believes, will serve as a deterrent to other Police officers.”
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode, wishes to apprise the public, most especially the good people of the State that, he will never condone any act of indiscipline and unprofessional conduct exhibited by any member(s) of the Nigeria Police under his watch.
“The Commissioner, therefore, appeals to the members of the public to be law abiding and be rest assured that justice will prevail,” the statement added.
