Bandits abduct Nasarawa lawmaker

Bandits have kidnapped Nasarawa lawmaker, Hon Ismai Danbaba, a member representing the Nasarawa Central State Constituency.

Danbaba was abducted on his way to Jos, Plateau State, for an official occasion on Saturday evening.

Mohammed Omadefu, chairman of the Nasarawa Assembly Committee on Information, confirmed the news to The Nation.

According to him, the incident happened in a forest in Kaduna State’s Sanga local government area.

He explained that the kidnapped legislator had travelled through Andaha in Nasarawa State’s Akwanga Local Government Area on his way to the woodland region in Kaduna’s Sanga LGA when he was attacked and taken away.

He said the kidnappers have made contact with the assembly but have not made any demands.
