Africa must crush illicit drug trade - Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu is calling on African anti-narcotic agencies to take strong action against substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking, emphasizing the need for Africa to break free from the control of drug barons and illicit syndicates.

The President, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, delivered these remarks during the 31st meeting of the Heads of National Drug Law Enforcement Agencies, Africa (HONLAF), held in Abuja.

He commended the agencies, stressed cooperation, and called for regional partnerships to counter drug syndicates.

On his part, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd), Chairman of the NDLEA, reiterated the commitment to global drug control through international collaboration.
