Abductors release DELSU student after payment of N3m ransom

The abductors of the Delta State University (DELSU) student, Chris Oghojafor, have released him after collecting N30 million ransom on Monday.

The student, who is studying Industrial Chemistry, was kidnapped on Friday, April 22, 2022. His abductors had initially demanded N50m ransom which was later reduced to N30m.

The student’s release was confirmed by his father, Joseph Oghojafor.

“Chris Oghojafor, who was kidnapped in Abraka by Fulani herdsmen, since on Friday evening, has just been released now. Glory be to God,” he said.

It was learnt that the student was released near Ugolo-Orogun, by the railway, in Ughelli South Local Government Area of the State.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), in the state, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the release of the student by his abductors.

He said: “We have confirmed the release of the student.”
