Police nab fake prophet, kidnappers, drug supplier in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old fake prophet, Bola Wasiu Adebola.
The Police Commissioner, Babaji Sunday said this during a briefing on recent successes by the command’s operatives.
According to him, detectives from the anti-violent crime section arrested Wasiu for obtaining money under false pretence.
It was gathered that the 45-year-old fraudulently obtained money from his victims under the guise of fortune-telling.
Wasiu allegedly defrauded a victim of N800,000 before he was caught around Area One in Abuja.
Meanwhile, operatives from the Bwari Division foiled a kidnap attempt by Nyale Kachia, Sani Damina and Yusuf Samaila.
The suspects confessed that they tried to abduct Kachia’s uncle along the Bwari area.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects include one machete and two sticks.
Similarly, the anti-kidnapping section arrested one Salihu Musa, 30, along the Kwali area.
The suspect admitted to his crime of supplying food items and drugs to kidnappers in the area.
A syndicate who staged the kidnap of members of their families and demanded ransom was also nabbed.
The gang members, Adamu Jibrin, 37, Mohammed Dahiru Husseini, 38, and Abubakar Ya’u, 35, were arrested in Karshi.
They threatened to kidnap a brother to Adamu Jibrin and collected N750,000 before letting him be.
Sunday said all the suspects will be charged at the end of the investigations.
