Represented by a Khadi of the State Shari’a Court of Appeal, Ishaq Magaji, the Grand Khadi said the training was designed to strengthen the judges’ knowledge of judicial procedures, professional ethics and the administration of justice.
He urged them to adhere strictly to established judicial procedures and dispense justice without fear or favour to maintain public confidence in the judiciary.
“You must uphold the highest standards of integrity, impartiality, discipline and professionalism in the performance of your judicial responsibilities,” Liman said.
He also reminded the judges of their religious obligations, urging them to fear God and remain conscious of their accountability for their actions in the hereafter.
Liman congratulated the judges on their elevation and encouraged them to embrace the responsibilities of their new positions with courage and dedication.
He said the training would familiarise them with their expanded duties and ensure that their decisions conformed to the Constitution, applicable laws, judicial procedures and principles of fairness.
The Chief Registrar of the Shari’a Court of Appeal, Bauchi, Tukur Saleh, commended Governor Bala Mohammed for supporting efforts to strengthen the state judiciary.
Saleh also praised the Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Judicial Service Commission, Dr Ibrahim Danjuma, for his commitment to judicial reforms and initiatives aimed at improving the justice system.
In his remarks, Danjuma urged the newly elevated judges to protect their integrity and apply the knowledge gained during the training to their court proceedings and judgments.
“By protecting your integrity, you are also protecting the good image of the judiciary,” he said.
The training covered appellate procedures, the jurisdiction of Upper Shari’a Courts, the code of conduct for judges, civil and criminal trial procedures, and court management and administration.
Participants were also encouraged to pursue continuous learning and professional development to improve judicial efficiency and service delivery.
