Again, police allegedly extort N305,000 school fee, rent from student

Another Nigerian student, Boluwatife Ojelade, has alleged that some policemen have extorted N305,000 from him after threatening to ruin his life.

He stated that the money was meant for his tuition fee, accommodation, and other sundry needs as common with students.

He added that the team that attacked and extorted the money from him are from Owode Egba Division, the same spot the previous victim, Sheriff Adedigba was extorted.

“I was travelling from abk to iperu, they stopped our vehicle and asked me to get down, asking me to unlock my phone which I questioned them “why should I”, they said is the new rules to search phones that they are special force.

“They asked the driver to leave but the man didn’t answer, they force the man to leave the spot leaving me behind with them, I was requested to pay the sum of N500,000, they forcefully collected N300,000 including N5000 POS charges. The money is for my tuition fee and my rent including some other expenses and my savings self.

“I made a transfer to a POS account coz of the unavailability of the POS man, I was threatened and claiming they will ruin my life if I didn’t comply, I have my bank statement stating how the transaction was made on this particular day,” Boluwatife narrated.

The report succeeded that of the Lagos State University student, Sheriff Adedigba, who was extorted of N153,000 from the policemen, who were subsequently arrested by the Ogun State Police Command.
