Three schools under the Code Like A Pro (CLAP) program have gained recognition. They emerged as winners of the Technovation Girls Regional Pitch competition.
The schools are Trendsetter, Sumscripts School, and Gilgal School. They emerged first, second, and third respectively in the competition under the beginners and junior categories.
The competition involved solving real problems using Scratch apps.
Winners of the pitch competition include Train Setters, Sumscripts School, and Gilgal School. They will advance to the semi-finals of the global Technovation Girls competition.
They stand the chance of representing Nigeria at the Technovation World Summit if they win at the Technovation Girls semi-finals.
During the event, Mrs Youth Hanson spoke. She is the Convener of Start Hub Women and was one of the judges at the competition. She said that it was inspiring to witness young girls pitch tech-driven solutions to real-world problems.
“These brilliant young minds are building confidence, mastering presentation skills and stepping boldly into the world of STEM.
“Their creativity, innovation and passion are heartwarming and deeply impactful. The future is bright and these girls are already shaping it,” she stated.
