CIPM re-elects Dr Essien chairman of A’Ibom branch

Dr Rosalyn Essien has been re-elected the Chairman, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), Akwa Ibom State.

Essien, who is CIPM’s first female chairman in the state, was re-elected for a second tenure at the institute’s secretariat on Thursday in Uyo.

In her speech, the Chairman said CIPM is responsible for promoting excellence in people management through value creation, optimisation of human potential, standardisation and regulation of human resource management.

According to Essien, under her leadership, CIPM has trained the workforce in 12 different organisations across the state, including the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State University, Ministry of Education, Office of the Head of Service, and Office of the Wife of the Governor, among others.

She revealed that following the directive of the Head of Service of the Federation who “mandated Administrative Officers from salary grade level 13 to have professional certification, ” the institute’s membership has grown.

“I encourage all civil servants to join CIPM for them to have proper human resource management training, ” she said.

Commending the cooperation and commitment of members, Essien urged them to remain dedicated to the institute for the benefit of society.

Other elected executive members are Vice Chairman, Mr Oliver Ernest; Secretary, Barr Imaobong Duru; Assistant Secretary, Mr Ekemini Ekanem; Financial Secretary, Mrs Itoro Austin, and Treasurer, Mrs Patience Eyina, among others.
