Nigerian Cultural and Musical Fiesta (NICUMFEST), said its planned musical and cultural festival which would showcase the diverse culture of Nigeria would drive economic prosperity.

National Coordinator, NICUMFEST, Akarandot Kokobassey, and Director, Administration, Idorenyin Aquaisua, said the festival would gather diverse arts, cultural and creative resources across the 36 states and the FCT and project them for investment opportunities.

In a press statement signed by Kokobassey and Aquaisua on Monday in Uyo, they said the event which will be held between November 22 and 25, 2023 at the Ibom Hall Arena, IBB Way, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State has the theme: “Mobilizing Nigeria’s Cultural Diversity for National Economic Prosperity”.

They stated that the private sector-driven initiative would among other things, harness and showcase creative talents, promote defining artistic assets in the nation’s cultural, choral and afro beats brands; and upscale creative capacity and competencies.

They explained that it would deploy Nigeria’s vast cultural potentials and assets to generate employment, as well as export creative resources across the world in ways that will enrich the lives of people.

They added that “NICUMFEST UYO, 2023” will serve as a meeting point for the global arts community, promote national peace and unity, and enhance the capacity of states to synergise and maximize opportunities within the sector for economic growth.

“NICUMFEST is conceptualized with an innovative vision to purposely amass the distinctive arts, cultural and creative resources in states for necessary value-addition and functional investment drives.

“This will be done through clinical documentation of the defining cultural potentials and artistic assets across States of the Federation and deployment of a broad range of targets-specific post-event promotional and marketing services for intentional year-round promotion of these resources on national and international media platforms and investment markets to attract the needed partnerships for meaningful development and foreign direct investments in the sectors,” the statement read.
