Terrorists invade Katsina community, kill five

Terrorists on Sunday night, struck Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State and killed five people while no fewer than twelve others were left injured.

It was learnt that five residents were abducted during the attack which happened around 10 pm.

Some of the residents stated that the terrorists stormed the town in numbers and began to shoot sporadically.

The residents who begged for anonymity added that the terrorists initially attacked from the outskirts due to the presence of security operatives and vigilantes in the town but gradually moved inside where they intensified the attack.

One of the residents disclosed, “The casualties would have been more if not for the efforts of the security operatives and the Vigilante.”

They said it was generally calm on Monday morning while security operatives and vigilantes were on patrol there.

Contacted the spokesman for the state police command, Abubakar Aliyu confirmed the development.

He said, “The incident occurred at 10 p.m. We have already commenced investigation while our men are on top of the situation there.”
