The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, Olatoye Adio Durosinmi has decorated newly promoted officers and commissioned a bulletproof police post.
The CP decorated three Assistant Commissioners of Police and eleven Chief Superintendents of Police recently promoted by the Police Service Commission, including ACP Samuel Okon Jeremiah, ACP Sunday Digha, ACP Alani Waheed, and CSP Adamu Madaki among others.
Durosinmi also commissioned a bulletproof security post at the state headquarters, Ikot Akpan Abia, executed by the Police Community Relations Committee, Akwa Ibom State, in collaboration with a non-weapon security organisation, Vineon Services and Investment Ltd.
In a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Odiko Macdon, and made available to our correspondent on Friday in Uyo, the CP charged the promoted officers on professionalism and commitment to their duties, saying the promotion entails more responsibilities.
“Be more professional and committed to your duties while taking into cognizance the fact that promotion comes with more responsibilities,” he said.
While speaking during the commissioning of the police post, the CP said the project was timely as there was need to tighten security around the command headquarters and formations around the state.
He commended the State PCRC Chairman Elder Ezekiel Umoh and members of the PCRC for their commitment to assisting the command effectively policing the state.
