Police apprehend suspected armed robbers at Ajah under bridge
The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command a few days ago nabbed a suspected gang of armed robbers apparently heading for a location to commit crimes.
The suspects, who were arrested in Ajah under bridge, were said to have been terrorizing the areas for a long time.
A statement signed by the Lagos State Police Command Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, averred that the Anti-Crime patrol team attached to Ajah Divisional Police Headquarters, while on routine patrol, apprehended a silver Honda City vehicle with number plate GGE 288 GV.
The three occupants of the car are identified as Emeka George, 30 years; Ahmed Balogun, 23 years, and Bolaji Elewuro, 29 years.
The statement added that the operatives on reasonable suspicion conducted a search on the occupants of the vehicle and in the process recovered one locally-made pistol with three live cartridges.
The operatives immediately moved the suspects to the station and a preliminary investigation commenced.
According to him, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, has directed that the suspects and exhibits be transferred to the CP Special Squad for a more discreet investigation, while also assuring that every required step will be taken to tackle insecurity.
