30 injured, 23 buildings burnt in Lagos/Ogun fire disaster

Thirty persons consisting of 20 adult males and 10 adult females were said to have been injured in the fire incident following a tanker explosion in the Iju/Ishaga area of Lagos and Ogun states.
Fifteen vehicles were also razed in the inferno.
Head, Public Affairs, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Nosa Okunbor, said the inferno was put off around 6.30pm on Thursday.
According to him, no death was recorded but the 30 people affected sustained different degrees of injuries.
He said, “The inferno has been put off completely.
“The total number of casualties are 30, consisting of 20 adult males and 10 adult females.
“The LASEMA conducted a post disaster assessment, which are: residential buildings, 2; church, 1; event centre, 1; commercial buildings, 4; market, 1 (consisting of 15 shanty shops); cars, 11; mini trucks, 2; bus, 1, and heavy duty truck, 1, totalling 23 buildings and 15 vehicles.
“Responders at the scene were the LASEMA Response Team, LRU Paramedics, LRU Fire team, LASG Fire Service, NEMA, NPF, NSCDC, and Red Cross,” he said.
